GE GE AC6000CW


The AC6000CW is a diesel locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems machine in 1990 to 6000 Horsepower.

They are used by major railroads in the U.S., with the exception of 8 units exported by BHP Billiton Iron Ore in Australia.

AC6000CW The competition is designed from Electro-Motive Diesel and GE Transportation Systems in early 1990 with a goal of 6,000 horsepower.

A partnership is established GE-MWM Deutz of Germany in 1994 to design and build the locomotives. The "Green Machine" GE 6000, the first locomotive was built. This nickname was given because of its well green paint. The first production models are also built in 1995, CSXT 600-602, 7000-7009 and UP.
