KMJ 218 - Camping Nes - Bergambacht (Holland)
The other cheese city
We leave our island to cross the Flevoland Friesland and wind farms . Hallucination on the road? No, it's a barge passing over us on a canal bridge in large size. Catching Gouda, near Rotterdam. After two hundred miles, then we return to Holland and its green heart. A parking space along the channel at the entrance of Gouda and we start to explore this city more important than the famous Edam, Village remained timeless. Gouda is very busy and we see the output of a marriage on the central square. All guests traveling in small combis Volkswagen colorful dating back 60. Nice. The city, surrounded by a canal, is very flowery especially red geraniums decorate bridges and streetlights. A specialty shop offers cheeses from all sources. Amazing. At bottom, a wall of wine bottles is offered at customer's eye. A little later, has its Gouda cheese museum shop with the inevitable destiny to sell a few pounds of the famous cheese yellow. After buying a guide to campsites in Europe, including Dutch in preparation for a next trip, we return to our truck and are heading to De Nes, the friendly camp of the West Dyke along the river Lek. Bike to the ground. Resumption of practice! We drive a few kilometers towards Krimpen to rediscover the pleasure of this mode of locomotion.
