KMJ 142 - Camping Het Amsterdamse Bos - Amsterdam.
KMJ 142 - Camping Het Amsterdamse Bos - Amsterdam.
attempt to rally this morning via Kinderdijk Kimpen but work requires us to turn around on a small road in a polder. So we opt for the ferry "Esmeralda". Happy surprise Adriatik passing our costs us only 3.50 € requested very nicely by a young Dutch speaking a few words of French crowned a very pretty smile. We decide to make the lunch break on the port Streefkerk. Hello friendly people around them with their dogs. A short ride to boot digestion allows us to discover the small houses put on the pontoons. Bordered by a terrace and equipped with a berth for a small cruiser, and allows each house to live in the same port. Every Dutchman still has a foot on the water. We arrive at the windmills of Kinderdijk. In 1738 eight mills were built and then 8 to protect land from flooding. It was to evacuate the rainwater into the river Lek nearby. Since the late eighteenth century and 19 windmills are lined up one beside the other, impressive symbol of the battle of Holland against the water. The estate, World Heritage since 1997, is still in its original condition. We're lucky, the wind blows regularly and we discover the genius within the mechanism for activating a paddle wheel to drain water from the canal. I get to pass documentation and plans that I intend soon to make a detailed page on these mills, witness the ingenuity deployed by the Dutch engineers of the Enlightenment. Jump in our time ended, we headed to Amsterdam where camping Gasper originally planned as a stopover Nouis refers to the wood "Zuid (South) city. Het Amsterdamse Bos welcomed us for two nights.
